CARPENTER, N.C. — A group of men in their late 20s and early 30s are painting the white spaces in the front of their pickup truck.
The bunting is not a new addition to the truck.
It’s part of the paint job.
The men, who work for a paint company in central North Carolina, say they’ve done it for years.
They say it’s a good way to make a statement.
“We’ve been doing it for decades, we’ve done a lot of stuff that’s just a little bit different than what’s been done before,” said Greg Smith, a member of the group.
“And it’s something that’s definitely something that we’re proud of.”
The men paint the white areas around the headlights, taillights and other exposed parts of the truck with paint thinner.
It’s a hobby.
It started as a hobby for the guys in their 20s.
They have their own paint company.
But they want to share the work.
“I want to tell people that if you can’t be a good neighbor and you’re not going to be a great neighbor, then maybe you should take your family and your car and your home and go somewhere else,” said Brandon Miller, another member of their group.
