A Portuguese painting easelist that dates back to the 16th century has been vandalized.
A message posted on a Portuguese blog reads: “A few days ago a painting easeling was stolen from a home in the city of Porto.
We have found that the painting was stolen in early February and that it has been damaged.
The owner is in a serious state.”
A few months ago, a painting was painted on a wall in Porto, Portugal.
A message posted by the owner of the painting on his blog says it is being repaired, but the painting is “in very bad condition”.
The paint was discovered by a neighbour on the street, the blog said.
The vandalism happened just a few days before a public holiday marking the Portuguese Independence Day.
According to the blog, the owner had no previous contact with police.
“The painting has been there for some time and has been in the house for years, so the thief had no reason to expect it would be returned,” the post read.
