When the iPhone was released in September 2016, Apple didn’t reveal much about the hardware, the operating system, or the software.
But by late August, it did say it would be launching a new version of the operating process called iOS 11 that would include an app store, a new photo editor, and a new music player.
But at the time, there was only a handful of details about the software, which was already under development at Apple and could be a while before its release.
Apple released a few details about iOS 11 at its event in September, and one of the biggest items was a new “app store” in iOS 11.
“The app store has always been our crown jewel,” Apple’s Phil Schiller said at the event.
“It is what gives us the ability to create amazing apps and get them out to millions of people.
It’s been our best friend in iOS.”
